Moonshot Partners Acquires CustomWeather, Inc. in First Step Toward Launch of Earth and Climate Intelligence Platform

Global weather forecasting company covering more than 85,000 locations becomes the first company in Moonshot's portfolio

TYSONS, VA, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- MILL VALLEY, CA and TYSONS, VA — Moonshot Partners, a newly formed investment and operating platform focused on the earth, weather, climate, and geospatial data ecosystem, today announced the acquisition of CustomWeather, Inc., a global weather data and forecasting company providing hyperlocal weather intelligence for more than 85,000 locations worldwide. CustomWeather is the first company in Moonshot Partners' portfolio. Haresh Bhungalia, Founder of Moonshot Partners, will serve as Chief Executive Officer of CustomWeather. Co-founded in 2000 by Geoff Flint, CustomWeather provides precision, location-specific forecasts and weather data via APIs and other delivery methods, enabling companies to integrate weather directly into their applications and operations. CustomWeather provides global coverage of current conditions, hourly and extended forecasts, severe weather information and alerts, and customized weather solutions. Customers rely on CustomWeather to inform their business decisions — to plan, manage risk, improve operations, deploy resources, and deliver optimal experiences to their own customers.

Founded in 2025 and headquartered in Tysons, VA, Moonshot Partners invests long term capital from its founder and a group of private investors with no predetermined holding period. The firm was founded by Haresh Bhungalia, who brings more than twenty-five years of experience building and leading enterprise software and tech-enabled services businesses across public and private sector markets. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Casepoint, a data discovery software company before its sale to Thoma Bravo. Prior to that, Bhungalia founded, scaled, and sold 2020 Company, LLC, a government and health IT services business.
