KENNESAW, GA, UNITED STATES, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Phobio, a technology company redefining the circular economy by turning used technology into renewed value, today announced the launch of Hoot It Forward, a new initiative in partnership with Kennesaw State University Athletics (KSU Athletics). Unlike traditional fundraising campaigns that rely on monetary donations, this first-of-its-kind program gives businesses, alumni, fans, and supporters a new way to contribute—by turning used technology into funding that directly supports KSU Athletics student-athletes.

“We’re excited to launch Hoot It Forward and create a new way for our community to invest in the future of KSU Athletics,” said Milton Overton, Director of Athletics at KSU. “By generating new resources to support our student-athletes, this program will help us remain competitive, strengthen our ability to recruit and retain top talent, and give more student-athletes the opportunity to build their futures right here at Kennesaw State.”

The process, powered by Phobio, is simple:

1. Start a Buyback/Trade-In: Begin a transaction for your old phones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches.

2. Ship Your Devices: Use the prepaid shipping materials provided by Phobio to send in your devices at no cost.

3. Proceeds Go to KSU: Business buyback proceeds and donated devices directly support KSU Athletics.

4. Receive a Receipt: Individuals or organizations receive a tax-deductible receipt for the full value of the device contribution.

Phobio is an R2v3 (Responsible Recycling) certified company, and every device is securely erased to NIST 800-88 and HMG Infosec standards before processing.

Missy Taylor, CEO of Phobio, shared, “Phobio is proud to put our technology to work in support of KSU Athletics and the student-athletes who represent our community. As a technology company headquartered right here in Kennesaw, we’re especially excited to create a new way for businesses, alumni, and fans to turn the value of their used technology into meaningful support for KSU.”

Ready to Hoot It Forward? Businesses can donate online today, while fans can donate their devices here. Fans attending KSU home games can also visit the Hoot It Forward stand to start the donation process in person at the Liberty game on October 22 or at KSU’s Homecoming game on November 7.
